John comes from a wide range of musical experience and influences.
He manages to integrate all the styles into a flavor of drumming
all his own. In keeping with the Coilback tradition, John
has an original style and approach that doesn't fit the norm, but
at the same time seems familiar and accessible.John's musical
past includes bands such as: Rednek, Inches of Mercury,
Charleen Foxtrot, Grimacing Eskimos, The Devirginizers, and
Psyclocybin (in Japan). He has plenty of time behind the
skins and his influences range from bands such as Iron Maiden,
Megadeth, Sepultura and Metallica to Parliment, R&B, Jazz, Funk
and a variety of Country.
When asked about what started him on drums, John stated, "I saw
a band play a pool party when I was 8....the drummer was awesome."
His goals in music are to, "get some really good music out
there", "develop a good relationship with my band mates," and,
"...TO ROCK THE FUCK OUT !!!"
When not behind a kit, John spends time behind a PS2. His
favorite PS2 past time being EA Sports Online ("...with a head
set"). He also enjoys other sports such as Dallas Cowboys
football and NASCAR.
John proves to be a force to be reckoned with and promises to
bring Coilback to yet another level in their sonic assault.
